Change Agent v. Pawn Leader

To be an "agent of change" is a difficult thing to say the least.  One must have a vision of what the change that you want to impart on your organization, and be working for the good of the organization.  One may need to go incognito to try something new.  Then one must have the drive and charisma to get others in your organization to buy into the change that you want to see happen.  Lastly one must not get discouraged when they hear "NO!" from the heads of the organization.

I very much desire to be a change agent where I work.  I see the ability for new technologies to make people more efficient, and make learning easier and more interactive for the students.  All too often when I approach leadership with a new or different approach to how we do things and what technologies we allow I am given a resounding "NO!" before any thought is put into what I may be asking.  I have to press through and rally the other pawns around me to help in my cause. (I will get into more specifics later.)

Pawn Leadership is being a change agent.  Pawns march forward only and they work for the good of the whole organization.

What is your story of being a Pawn Leader?
